Hi! My name is Vanessa Klein.
I grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska, and moved to Kansas City to study animation at Kansas City Art Institute, where I graduated in 2022. Iβve experimented with a variety of media throughout my artistic practice. I enjoyed crafting miniatures for my dolls as a child. I drew and painted throughout high school. I took ceramics and printmaking electives in college. Lately Iβve been leaning into collaging (primarily with found materials) and making vlogs of my daily life as an artist. I am also currently developing Snoop My Diary, a podcast in which I read through journal entries from my past while reminiscing on the mindset of my youth and acknowledging my growth.
My art is essentially a reflection of my inner world, my thoughts, my conspiracies, my struggles, and my greatest joys. I like to create from a childlike mindset, allowing myself to explore new ways of making without fear.
